By air-conditioned bus
The Ekamai Bus Terminal is the main terminal for the eastern provinces. It is located t the Ekamai section of Sukhumvit Raod which is easily accessible by the BTS Skytrain. Air conditioned and ordinary buses depart almost every hour as shown in the timetable here. The trip is about 5 hours.
Nowadays , there is a new bus station at Trat Province. It is around 1 km from the town. visitors can catch a taxi (Songthaew) from there to downtown, which cost 20 Baht person. These fares are applicable for joined trips. Please note that if you arrive at the bus station after
5:00 p.m . you might need to rent the taxi as private transfer to the pier i.e Centerpoint, as there are lesser visitors who go there . The rental price is around 300 Baht, but it dependent on gasonline price There are buses from Khao  San Road, but this buses are very slow and
sometimes overcrowded, as they pick up passengers from other places. They are operated by  travel agencies taking you to their contracted resorts and hotels. BE AWARE!
The best and reliable choice is the departure from the Ekamai Bus Terminal.
